I'm so sorry it has taken me so long to post. I have been very busy!
Anyway, I have faithfully been taking DeeKay on a 3/4 mile ride everyday for the past week or so. He has been doing very well, and I am very pleased.
Today, I almost had a heart attack! It was our lazy Saturday afternoon when my Dad said "Your horse is laying down" I thought "Surely he must just be rolling....right?......please" but nope, he was just laying down thrashing around. So I mad dashed to him and as soon as he saw me coming he put his head/neck on the ground and his eyeballs kinda rolled, and that did me in. Almost crying I asked him to stand up, which he did after a considerable amount of begging on my part.
The reason it scared me so much is because this past week my friend almost lost her horse due to colic, $540 later the vet says he will be okay. But it was very close, and my horse was showing very similar symptoms.
I got DeeKay some medicine and gave it to him, hopefully I caught the colic in it's early stages.
We got church tomorrow, and we are having a church wide potluck, everyone has to bring something....harvesty (is that a word?? oh well!). I made a ButterNut Squash Cobbler. My very first cobbler and I must say it came out wonderful!
Anyway, I got a blueberry cobbler in the oven now, so I'd better go grab it before I have a burned blueberry cobbler:)
Thanks for reading!
Cya later
Iris
